Re: The Fly Fishing Bible of Nymphing
Just got my signed copy last week. I haven't watched any of the videos yet, but I'm half way thru the book. Can't wait to get on the stream and try out some of the techniques. I really haven't done much nymph fishing, and only 3 years experience with spiders, but I'm hooked. Very interesting and ext...

Re: Hooks
Just got my order from Bob. That was fast. I ordered them Monday and got them today, Friday. I am a customer for as long as he sells them! $7 a 100, and free shipping! Wow, incredible!! I just bought 400, 12-18, to check them out. I will definitely be buying more. Again, thanks for the tip. This is ...

Re: Yorkshire Spider (John Shaner's Collection)
And here is another pair of original Yorkshire spiders. https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-7bO-a6oA1IQ/VIEXlk6WRVI/AAAAAAAAM6E/2vzC7bRjrdo/s800/_DSC4156.jpg John - What can you tell us about these two spiders? What is the red strand hanging off the top fly? Is this silk floss, that has been broken ...

Re: Hare's Ear, Pheasant Tails & Hackles
PhilA - Thanks for the pics of Datus Proper's traveling fly tying kit. Amazing! I need to get his book out and read it again this winter. So many books, so little time. I'm finding since I got hooked on soft hackles that I have been accumulating quite a bit of materials in the past 4 years. Not even...

Re: Hooks
Thanks for the tip. I've been getting my hooks from Hook and Hackle for the past several years, but they aren't selling them anymore. This is a much better price too. Definitely gonna start buying some of these when my stash starts going down.

Thanks for posting the PDF! Yep, I downloaded it too. That is a good find, thank you. It is also available in a new edition by this editors son, Tom Cross, namely Martin Cross. This edition includes pictures in colour. https://www.anglebooks.com/jim-wynn-s-recommended-flies-for-the-river-wharfe.html...

I'll just simply go to the Project Gutenburd site (or other sites) and download the old, original book in either pdf or text version. Bob Thanks Bob. I have been using Google Books and archive.org for years. Never heard of Gutenberg.org. I will start searching here for books I haven't been able to ...

Re: Partridge & Tups Variations (Tutorial / SBS)
Awesome tie Ray! I just went to Joann's and picked 2 of the colors, Lion Brand Fisherman's Wool #098 and the Patons bright red. The lady at Joann's said she has never seen any of the Lion Brand Red #114 in stock. They didn't have any of the Felt Works Cheddar either, so I ordered some on Amazon. Can...

Re: North Country spider article
Just came across this thread yesterday. This has been one of the most informative threads I've read in a little while. BTW, I bought "The History of Fly Fishing," which came out November of 2019, as a Christmas gift to myself. I thoroughly enjoyed reading it. Looking to get Volume 2 in the...
