Why not flat silver tinsel instead of Mylar? I think it would be better proportioned in a shorter shanked hook.

Dana, I second that, a nice swap indeed. I don’t know about finding any Spur Winged Plover ( I never heard of it) but a swap could be along the lines of forgotten patterns.

Fly that dead drift show little or no moment with their hackles etc. But my observation on several fast moving water is that most of the aquatic insects that hatch In open water float to the surface very slowly with little or movement, I guess that’s why dead drifting a nymph pattern is so deadly. I’m not sure if there is a totally clear available, I bought a lot of all available colors but the nearest thing to clear was white. It’s the Antron Tri-lobal which I obtained from bookmailet.com
