Re: Greentail

Here’s the dressing from Pritt’s book 33. GREENTAIL (Grannom Fly). Re: Green Caddis Soft Hackle

I tie several peacock bodied soft hackle variations using using a wire wrapped peacock body; partridge, hen, starling, etc.hackles for some very effective fishing. Using a lime green thread for the head and butt, creates a nice egg laying caddis variation.

Re: Dyed Partridge capes

I have one just like the bottom pic and another slightly lighter...both from Dave Roberts. I think I might have posted a pic of it awhile back. Makes very nice soft hackled dressings.

So, I decided to tie up a few BH nymphs using the dyed ...

Alan

Hope you don't mind. I downloaded and cropped your pics. Have no idea why one pic ended up smaller than the other two.

Re: Pheasant Tails

For several years, I did buy pheasant tails in various places, including (once) at a flower shop where the PTs were being used in floral arrangements. But, I've been lucky, in that I've been able to get several VERY NICE PTs recently due to hunting some wild Iowa pheasants......I didn't get to down ...
