Thanks for the observation about the wing casing. I don't have any mallard wings, but I'll look for something else that might work. That would make splitting the partridge a lot easier.

Greg - These we’re tyed with an unsplit strand of yarn. I tye it in all the way to the barb of the hook, then wind it forward in one layer.
