California Quail and Beaver
Recieved a care package from Theroe the other day. Several pieces of fur in it. One of the pieces was a beautiful piece of Beaver without guard hairs. Great stuff to work with. It has an amazing shine when spun on pearsall's. Thanks again Dana . More flies to follow with the materials in the package.

Re: Muskrat
Great stories, I love to hear about peoples memories with their dads and granddad's. It always takes me back. So one question.....did the monks out west fly fish or did they use bait?

Re: Muskrat
Hi Wayne, those are great looking flies. Do you apply the dubbing as a noodle and pick it out a bit or use a split thread to spin it? I would think they would catch in just about any size. Thanks for posting them.

Re: Dye mix?
For years , the squirrels in the neighborhood have been leaving walnut husks on my deck and patio. If I didn't get them picked up quickly, I would have terrible stains. A few years ago, one of the squirrels decided to lop off a few young bonsai trees I had on the deck. Somewhat pissed, I bought a pe...

Re: most productive soft hackle trout fly
Bob has a great approachand explained it beautifully. My most productive fly this season has been a variation of Richard walkers mayfly nymph tied as a wingless wet. We can use a three fly rig here in Michigan, so when I am prospecting, I'll tie a light, dark, and something in the middle on. The fis...
