Re: Bamboo rods for flymphs

Thanks Eric. You need to get John back out there to do some more filming. ;)

Re: Bamboo rods for flymphs

I'm enjoying the thread as well. It has been a while now that I watched a video of Eric playing a trout that I think John S was filming. Thought it would be fun to review the battle once again should someone know where to find it.

Re: Bamboo rods for flymphs

Tim I have read of other's with the same concern about breaking a tip on a cane rod. As a cane rod builder I know is quick to answer about that concern. Those tips can be replaced. That's not always the case should you have a favorite graphite that suffers the same breakage. I would suggest though s...

Re: leisenring lift

Thank you Lance for coming to the recue and all the rest of you "Flympher's" for helping make this an enjoyable few days of pondering the Leisenring Lift. As mentioned it will be spring before I can test any of what I have read here. It isn't that I doubt any of what has been explained but...

Re: leisenring lift

Hank before the thought gets away from me again I want to thank you for sharing the excerpts from the writings of JL and Pete as well. There continues to be some interesting input to the Leisenring Lift thread and as was mentioned we still have to be able to put what was written into our arsenal of ...

Re: leisenring lift

Whom ever, thanks for the reply. I was in hopes this conversation would continue. It was before this web site came into existence that there was a thread regarding JL describing the fly as I recall ticking the bottom. Those replying were trying to figure out if he supposedly didn't weight his flies ...

Re: leisenring lift

Without the book here to read I am wondering if when reading Mr. Leisenring's description of various tactics we are assuming each tactic employs the Leisenring lift? Regards, Jerry Jerry, I would not make that assumption. Hidy says elsewhere that JL used lots of different tactics as water and condit...

Re: Tenkara Trauma (Sharing a Life Lesson)

Well Ray it was an honest attempt at humor. Now how in the world manicured became manufactured I have no idea. This was one of my first attempts at sending a note via a Kindle Fire I received for Christmas. I had better start reading my messages before I submit them.

Re: Tenkara Trauma (Sharing a Life Lesson)

That is a bummer and I can only imagine the lump I would have in my throat after having that experience. On a much lighter note, you certainly have well manufactured nails. ;)
