Re: Alternate Tup's Hackles

I have a couple from Whiting's Hebert Minor line that are favorites. Those with the white or very light gray are used to hackle PMD's. That color was suggested by Syl Nemes in one of his books.

Re: Water Cricket

I love this fly in a 14 or 16 when BWO's are about. It has worked well for me. Take a peek at my avatar.

That is just superb, Ray. Makes me wish I had ordered some buttermilk yarn...but the technique will work with other colors, I'm sure. Just lovely.

I ordered colors, Fog, Wren, Grouse, Autumn and Moorland. Once in hand I'll be more than willing to share.

Re: Peacock-Furnace and Wren (wool) Soft Hackle

Just tried to order from Jamieson's Shetland web site and was told they can't ship to the US. On the hunt for other sources of the colors I want. Update: Found a source in Seattle, order has been placed. Once it arrives I'll post some pics and share it around. Man, they have some great, fishy, colors.

Re: Peacock-Furnace and Wren (wool) Soft Hackle

Ray, Thank you, Sir. I really appreciate all the effort you put into getting info for the rest of us (well, okay, me.) :D

Update: I just looked at the color options available. That could be dangerous. So many beautiful colors to tie with.

Ray, I took a look at Chris's site and couldn't find the yarn. Do you have a link, just in case I should ever need such a thing?
