Re: What's your favorite hook?

What's your favorite hook for soft hackles, flymphs and why? I've been using some older Hardy Hamilton hooks which are japanned black. They are good looking but the japan finish can be a little rough and the eyes are not always fully closed. Because most the waters I fish are barbless, I prefer to ...

Re: Semperfli pure silk... Very photo heavy ;)

Great post Karsten and superb photography as per usual. The pure silk certainly does make a bold statement. Beautiful flies, everyone of them Karsten.
I hope they bring good money for the auction.
You're looking like a pro with the pre-spun bodies. Well done.

Great looking flies Carl. Really like the proportions.
That back strip looks perfect.
Have you brought it over after tying in the body and ribbed with the wire?

Tim, These patterns are simply gorgeous! I don't know how you do it....other than to say VERY WELL!! Please keep us fed! Dougsden Too kind of you Doug. If I'm tying it, the fly will be easy to tie! Was having a conversation earlier today. One of my most successful flies this season was a #16 bead h...

Nice Bill,
I bet that fishes beautifully.
It even looks like you grabbed it before it swam to the surface.

Hoped I'd sent a couple to you Ray, with my swap flies.

Re: Starling and Hare's Lug

It is blowing and raining, on and off John. A good reason to tie flies alright. These are part of an order for a friend who's going to fish in Sweden. No steamers, bead heads or weighted flies. I joked that he'd need my spiders and he got back asking me to tie them. There's a lot to be said for shut...
