Re: March Brown Nymph - Light Version

Doug,

That's a great looking pattern! Well-tied and practical, I'd love to try it on those big bluegills. Awesome fly, thanks for posting it!

Best,

Tim

Re: Fishing with Tim (tjd)

Hey, Doug! Thanks for the nice comments. I always leave a few flies in the trees! It's not often that conditions are just right, and everything comes together. Ray and I were very fortunate to be at the right place at the right time that evening. Oddly, we were going to try another stretch, but I co...

Re: Fishing with Tim (tjd)

Hi Lance,

Thank you for the kind words, and also for checking in with me. I'm not celebrating yet, I'm in my last semester, and if everything goes well I will finish in mid-July.

I look forward to seeing you soon!

Best,

Tim

Re: Fishing with Tim (tjd)

Hank,

I'm just a tech-challenged grunt...

William,

Yes. lots of flies to try and hatches to match during this time of the year. Come on up! You'd disapprove of the jumble on my fly tying bench, for sure!

Best,

Tim

Re: Fishing with Tim (tjd)

Ray, I hope this post sticks...as we discussed, last time I tried to comment on a post the words vanished into a void somewhere! Always a pleasure to fish with you, and also to have you as a guest, Ray! We had a good couple of outings, and were fortunate o find good hatches of March Browns, Olives, ...

Re: New bobbin

Wayne, From the Wasatch site: http://flytyingtools.com/tools/bobbins/mini-bobbin.html Not a lot of info posted, and nothing specifically on the size of this bobbin. This looks like the small bobbin that fits the Pearsall's spools. I have one, and have used it for several years. I like it. Matarelli ...

Re: Rockworm Pupa

Hi Bill,
The use of yarn to imitate the emergent wings looks great! That's a really nice looking pattern, and you've really nailed it with the blended body colors. So important, I feel.
Off to the vise!
Caddis time here in western New York soon...

Re: Ideas for thread and other spooled stuff storage

Hi Hank, Late to the dance, as usual... The revolving rack type containers are nice, if you don't travel. I keep a piece of cloth over mine to keep the sun and dust out. Waxed thread attracts dust. Nasty... I do like the Uni boxes. They hold a nice amount of spooled materials, and it's easy to pull ...
