Re: Rods for fishing flymphs and soft hackles
Thanks to everybody who responded to the rod question so far. Long light rods if the length is suitable for the stream you're fishing. I figure the length is going to give you better line control. Why the light lines? Two and three weights mostly. Interesting, to me any way.

Rods for fishing flymphs and soft hackles
Have been thinking about rods lately and thought I'd ask you all what length and line weight rod do you like to use when fishing flymphs and soft hackles? I could add fishing traditional wet flies to that question. I know there are variables to what rod you might prefer like fast or slow water, leng...

Beautiful flies, clearly real killers. I need to get a new partridge skin as well. None of the local shops have any quality skins. Any suggestions where to get good partridge skins online? Thanks I got a nice Partridge skin from Feather-Craft online and bought one once from Cookshill. I particularl...

Re: Warwick
Beautiful! I wonder how or why they came up with some of these old wet fly patterns. Did they think they would just be something that attracted trout. Weren't imitations. I guess they attracted fisherman. They are beautiful to look at and you do a great job of tying. I enjoy seeing them.

Re: Kemp Bug
My best sizes were 6 thru 10. These would be on either 1XL or 3XL long hooks, Mustad 3906B or 9672. Use it all over the Park but it is especially effective in meadow waters like the Madison, Gibbon, Firehole. The larger sizes are good in the riffle areas and that's where I believe fish take it for ...
