Re: Blog Article on Casting the Tenkara
Thanks everyone great information. I still like the rod it's just I need to get more familiar with it. The reason I stopped using it while in Wy is that I was after the Wy Cutt-slam, which I did accomplish. ...and they do slam it sometimes, eh? I had some cutt-slams at those ungodly Chernobyl Ants ...

Re: Blog Article on Casting the Tenkara
Interesting article. I used my 13ft out west with the furled line and found it difficult to cast in wind using a 6x tippet. When I went to a 5x it worked much better. The problem I had over all was with hook set. I lost several 15 -17 in Cutts because of that, small trout were no problem. I can't s...

Re: The delight of a balanced leader.....
In the past I tied my own leaders, then I went to Airflo with a butt section and you tie on the length if tippet. Now I use furled leaders, some store bought and others that folks have sent me. I prefer the furled leaders. The Tenkara line is furled and I have not had any serious tangling problems.

Re: a couple more flymphs
Those are some nicely tied flies but don't qualify as Flymphs exactly. A Flymph has a full body with the hackle wrapped back towards the hook bend. See www. internationalbrotherhoodoftheflymph.com and www.dtnichlson.com for excellent flymphs.

Re: Opossum Caddis
Did you know, The true term for the body material should be 'Possum'. to my knowledge there is no 'opossum' in Australia or New Zealand (The Possum being a native animal to Australia only). It seems to get marketed as 'opossum' in the Northern Hemisphere. Now here is a tip is you can get hold of so...

Re: Long Rods
Hot damn, I got to fish the long rod today, what a blast. I won't say it is going to take the place of my other rods but fishing that is a blast.
