Re: Gossamer Silk

Here is a snapshot view of the color reference charts. The PDF version that Mark posted in the reference section is larger and of higher quality. https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/_5CUJvRCEjrE/TdMrXmqgfTI/AAAAAAAACV4/6MLZe9VTddQ/s800/Pearsalls%20Tyers%20Reference%20Chart%201.JPG https://lh3.googleus...

Re: Gossamer Silk

Stefan (DD) - I sent you an E-mail with the draft copy of the Pearsall's colour reference chart. Once you have had a chance to review the draft, we can publish it here. Can you confirm the number for Claret. I have another reference that listed it as number 191. I assume your number (14) is correct,...

Re: Nifty Technique - Tying with 2 spools of silk

Thanks guys. I hoped you'd like this. Maybe I should submit the idea to a fly tying magazine. CB - The Dark Wachet came to mind, when I started thinking about other color combinations. Vicki - Oh my! That is a terrific adaptation of Bill's fly. I agree with all the feedback above. Once again I will include my admiration for those of you skilled in the technique of spinning deer hair. Kudos... PS - Those poor fish don't stand a chance on your next camping trip. ;) :D Give 'em hell!!!

Vicki - Did you get the Helen Shaw book from Mark yet? You are going to love it. I picked up a used copy last year. I read my copy cover to cover and picked up many helpful techniques. Mrs. Shaw did a great job of breaking techniques down to the foundation.

Re: Nifty Technique - Tying with 2 spools of silk

I just realized that this method may make some neat looking wraps on bamboo fly rods. Lots of possibilities once you start thinking about it.

Thanks Mark, but if I was a genius I'd be able to figure out a way to sell these. (joking)
