Re: Questionable Fly
This thing was "questionable" at best when I tied it on, but it was only meant as a "split-shot on a hook" to get the trailing fly down to depth. http://i1095.photobucket.com/albums/i463/Matauramayfly/Flies/P1000759_zpsib3bnd2q.jpg When it first got tied on it had a hackle of Sta...

Re: Dave Hughes Video - Flymph Tying Demonstration (YouTube)
P.S. I seem to recall not getting a dozen flies from you when you became a member of The Soft Hackle List.....ahem. Grant Ahhh, the force (of memory) is weak in this one........ I am possibly the only one that DID send you a dozen flies when I joined that perhaps more elite list, twas not my fault ...

Re: Dave Hughes Video - Flymph Tying Demonstration (YouTube)
Grant..... you heathen! Part of the fun of pre-rolled bodies is it can be done whilst you are in your easy chair watching television. Rolling on your leg whilst you watch your favourite show. The "bodies" are then stored on the cards, giving time for the wax to cure and "set&quo...

Re: Leisenring's Old Blue Dun
That is a very pretty rendition.
Great proportions and form.
I am really liking the hook, what make and model is it? Looks old school with the barb size, but I mostly like the wire weight and the generous eye.

Re: KInkame Partridge and Orange
They have a really good selection of colours up there on the 4th floor. When I was there it was kind of an impulse thing and I did not have a tying colour chart to compare colours, so I stuck with the obvious of black, brown, purple, red, white, grey, yellow, gold in a couple of shades and a couple ...

Re: KInkame Partridge and Orange
I have no doubt it is spectacular. But, owing to something I do not fully understand, I cannot view your image of this or any other fly you have posted nor your avatar. I am guessing it has something to do with where you store your online photographs and my firewall or security settings. Only seems ...

Re: Hook for the Red Hackle?
Partridge G3A? I would be thinking about a Kamasan 830, possibly a B200. The 830 are 2XL. The 200 is a medium wire and what I would call 1.5 XL. I think the Daiichi equivalent to the 830 would be the 1710. The B200 is a deep water nymph hook and is a TD eye, 2X strong wire, forged 2XL with a Sproat ...

Re: Woodcock and Goose Softhackle
Very nice tie William, but I am a bit confused.
Woodcock & Goose, yet there is no Goose in it and it is tried with Goose substitute? Why not call it a Woodcock and whatever the sub donor was?

Re: Woodcock and Hare Flymph
They are real pretty, I like them a lot!
That wire rib just seems to compliment the Hare, but also contrast it enough to lend a lifelike appearance.
