Re: Two traditional flies variant
I love the "list" at the center of the greenwells hackle. It looks so nice, set against the yellow silk body. By the way, excellent silk and tinsel work on the abdomen.

Re: Soft Hackle BS
Bob (redietz) - I will need to make some substitutions to tye this pattern in a size 20. The tinsel will probably be too wide for a hook that small. I may need to twist it into a fine cord, or find an even finer tinsel (which I probably already own - I just need to do some digging to find it). I wou...

Re: An Odd Couple.
Donald - After studying the Greentail (Grannom) pattern, I have a couple questions. How did you form the butt of this fly? Is it formed with green wool yarn, or is it chopped up wool dubbing? I think some of the Chadwicks wool you sent me would work perfect for this.

Re: Gray Hackle Peacock Variation
Goodness sakes those are small! Earlier this summer I go a peek into Tim Didas' spring creek fly box and it was the same way...tiny flies.
Hey, if that's what the fish want, give em tiny flies.
Wayne - Terrific flies. Love the fish photos. I look forward to hearing how you do.

Re: Hackle pliers..... whatcha using?
Wayne - What pattern is that? Initially I was guessing it was a small version of your muskrat pattern, but then was not so sure. Figured I'd ask. Gorgous fly & photo, by the way. JohnP - If you are a fan of still water flies, you should check out a tyer named Denny Rickards. I am a big fan of hi...
