Re: Stripped Peacock Quill Bodies
Dana, your the first person that mentioned stripping the rachis. I have some that I stripped back in the '70's that I have had stored in a jar of glycerin. W.S. different subject, what do you use to thin Kelson's head cement and what is the liquid wax made of I know that odor but I just can't place...

Re: Stripped Peacock Quill Bodies
Bob, I use artist's turpentine. If you have a Michael's nearby they have 50% coupons you can use. The hardware stuff is too sludgy. You probably mean benzoin. Thanks Bill, I do have some artist's turpentine. A woman at an artist supply wanted to sell me some odorless turpentine, have you used that?

I'm gonna let you in on a little secret. A few years ago, maybe 4, I know for someone here in the states that was sending starling skins to Steve.

Re: Moorhen Wings - Reference Photos
I use moorhen for small black stone and caddis patterns. If you order from Cookshill you can specify what type of bird you want, young or old. There are a couple of patterns that call for young red grouse and he can ship those to you. Steve lists and posts photo's on FB if anyone is interested. He o...

Re: More On Fly tying Tools
For Pearsall's I prefer Materelli which are no longer available. For scissors, last year I bought a pair of Dr. Slick razor's the best I have ever used.

Re: Rod length & action in spider fishing
Like Tom stated Ray hit the Tenkara on the head. I have been using a Tenkara since Tenkara USA introduced them. I have four Tenkara rods which all have different actions and spiders work just great with them. Saying that I fish bamboo 95% of the time and I use an 8ft 5wt, If I had a 4wt I might use ...
