Willowhead - how do you secure the bead? Is it glued, or do you just secure it in position with tying thread and / or materials? And where do you get hold of hooks like that? :shock:

Old Hat, just caught up with this, I love that fly 8-) This up-turned eye thing - is it an American thing? I've read a few of you commenting that the flies look like they are swimming up - not a bad look for an emerger. ;) It is certainly true in the vice... I'm trying to decide whether it would see...

Andrew, the body length on this seems to suit this color of silk much better. The barb is obscured by the holder so I can't be certain, but I would swear that one additional wrap of the silk would extend the body length to the point of the barb, if the barb is bent down. w That model hook is barbless ;) :lol: Thanks for all the kind comments everybody.
