Bob - so this thread sort of awoke me from a deep slumber. I have so much crap it’s really astounding….. and recently I find myself in the same thought pattern.….. I’m a little surprised to hear that there aren’t many starlings up your way. I would’ve thought you could throw some corn out in the backfield and have enough starling to supply the group!

If you use varnish throughout the tying process flies become bomb proof. This includes swiping your tying thread with varnish before applying dubbing. It is the easiest way to dub seal's fur.
