First fish I ever caught on a fly rod was a slab blue gill in a private pond in Durham, NC. Seemed anything with rubber legs would do the deed. Only problem was the pond belonged to a Frat brother from Duke, and I had to sneak in because those Dookies didn't want any Tarheel Delta Sigs in their pond...

I came across this Green Drake emerger the same day that I saw DUBBN's fly. My camera is so bad, I couldn't take a decent picture of one I tied so I just put in the URL so you can see it clearly. Similar to DUBBN's fly, it has compound hackles which got my attention.

guys... I've fished a section of the Middle Deschutes when we could get on the water that has a bit of a salmon fly/stonefly hatch each spring.
