Re: Field Testing a V.S. Hidy Flymph
Great pics and a great flymph, how could they resist! Love the inhabitants of that special stream.

Re: Tups Indispensable
I love this. Those Mile 6 up to the Dam PMDs are fun aren’t they? So at least I won’t be the only one throwing Tups based flies at them. Of course they’ll refuse them too, but hey that’s the fun of it. I like your recipes and will experiment. I just think no one is throwing flymph style impressionis...

Re: Tups Indispensable
Thank you all for the generous offers received. I look forward to buzzing this up in the repurposed spice blender and showing the Frying Pan PMDs a new trick this September!

Re: Tups Indispensable
Does any shop offer a good Tups dubbing? The Valla recipe looks perfect but as near as I can tell, True Red wool yarn no longer exists and cheddar Felt Dimensions is either gone or on the endangered species list. That, and if you acquired all those ingredients, spending the better part of $50, you’d...

Beautiful! I also like the longer name for the bird, are those legal in the States and is there a New Zealand version of Cookshill’s.

What hackle did you use? The recipe would be awesome. I do like those Mustad upturned eye hooks.

Re: May fly Honey Dun a V.S. Hidy pattern.
I love these Hidy patterns, but keep thinking they need to be fine tuned to the bugs I see on the stream. What bug do we think is this pattern aimed at imitating, or perhaps better said, evoking?

I think this is the Semper Fli silk product interesting product description stating they match E&L colors from an actual vintage copy. Chasin’ the Grail.

Re: New member intro
Me and my flyfishing buddies obsess a bit over the RS2, and I agree we’ve always used microfibbets cocked at the correct 60-70 degree angle and speculate they function as both trigger and a rudder of sorts but who knows. I’ve got to think the earliest versions did not rely on the relatively modern p...
