Re: William Anderson Demonstrating Clark Dubbing Block Technique

Hi Mike, I had a similar problem when I started . I was using some bow string wax. This wax wasn't nearly as soft and sticky as the toilet ring but also never seemed to harden up like William and the others on the board show. I was fortunate enough to come across a vendor who was selling cakes of du...

Re: GRHE Dark Version

Growing up in the adirondacks, I cant count the number of masks and feet that went in the trash after hunting and skinning them. We have some here in Michigan, but they are becoming more and more rare. I believe that the decline is due to habitat and other factors. I would love to come across one th...

Thanks for the quick response Bob. It clarified things alot. I will try that approach this evening and report back.
Keep me posted if you get a chance to fish Michigan's Ausable River. I would love a chance to meet up with you.

Re: Powell's Squashed Beetle

Nicely done Bob, I really like the effect of your starling hackle. A few questions for you. Is the starling tied in by the tip or the base of the feather? and do you you wrap to the front or to the back? I have tried a few times to replicate the hackle as shown and have been unsuccessful. Any insigh...

Re: Grateful Red Nymphs

I was in my early teens in the 70's. It helped a bit to have an aunt and uncle only 10 years older than me to haul me to concerts. Rochester Syracuse buffalo and alfred university we normal upstate shows around us.

Re: Lucky day...Is it a Mink or a Weasel?

Update, got the rest of the story. Apparently, the father of one of my employees has been losing a chickens and ducks for a week or so. He figured it was a coon so set a few leg hold traps around the pen. The other night, he heard a commotion in the pen and went out side to see what was going on. On...

Lucky day...Is it a Mink or a Weasel?

I received this photo from one of my employees this afternoon. His dad shot this guy chasing the chickens in his pen. The text read..."do you have any interest?". I couldn't reply quickly enough ..."absolutely!!". I believe it's a mink but not sure. Any guesses? I should know mor...

Re: DIY Pearsall's Thread spool adaptor

Thanks Bill and Ray, I get my obsessive compulsive traits from my grand dad. He was a machinist, so he believed he could make anything better and cheaper. . He might have been successful at improving things, but I would bet very few of his creations saved him money. I guess that wasn't the poi...
