Beadless SH's
I had to see if I could still tie a beadless soft hackle! The rivers are getting high and dirty. I have a hunch these will still take trout fishing soft water on the inside bends .  https://i.postimg.cc/wMXnjS8S/20200505-155550.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/W3JQQd9p/20200505-151141.jpg https:/...

Great looking flies.
There is a company called D’s Flyes that sells the melon colored quills. They are located in Denver. Web site www.dsflyes.com. They also have a color called Frying Pan PMD.

Re: Tups Indispensable
Frying Pan PMDs a new trick this September! I swear, there are times when I believe I am the only person in the entire state of Colorado that has heard of a Tups. There are times that I mention it by name and I get the weirdest looks from other fly fishermen. The first photo is my standard Tups var...

Partridge Emergers
Size 18, Olive and Tan I hope I get the chance to try these before Spring run off swells all of the local rivers. This pattern is a great way for me to use up the larger Partridge feathers that normally are never used. I will definitely tie some up to size 12 https://i.postimg.cc/xCkgYQTj/IMG_202005...

Re: Beaded SH's
Thanks Ron. These are glass beads. Normally I just slide the bead up the tippet then tie the fly on.Ron Eagle Elk wrote: ↑Fri May 01, 2020 10:51 pm Wayne, that's a really good fly. It must be good, it's stuck in a trout's mouth. Is that a metal, glass or plastic bead?
For some reason I am on a bead kick at the bench.

Beaded SH's
I nymphed from sun up till 11:00 AM. Hooked and landed some very large Bows on small baetis nymphs. Working my way back I had immense fun swinging that silly Partridge and Yellow. I did well with the Gray version as well. The river will be blown out with snow melt soon. I am happy I got a little SH ...

Re: Guides Choice and P&Y
Oh yeah! That’s the stuff! :D Congratulations Wayne. This post brightens my day. BTW - I fished hard on both Saturday and Sunday, and got skunked both days. Best I could manage was a couple bumps (short strikes) on streamers. It was still nice spending time on the stream. My wife brought plants hom...

Guides Choice and P&Y
Lots of good fish today. The fish were eating Yellow Sally nymphs. The Guides Choice and the P&Y did a great job imitating. https://i.postimg.cc/gjhGKv0V/20200427_111921.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/vHRYZSP3/20200427_081629.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/44H4ZT1Y/20200427_083023.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/2...
