It can, but the translator uses the term "wet fly" consistently elsewhere in the book, and in this instance adds italics to moist.

Some people recommend that you pinch with the middle finger instead of the index. I wonder why the recommendation only went down to 12? That could easily be tied in an 18 or 20 and would catch a lot of fish.
