Hatter, I've not fished the version with the blue flash yet, though regularly use the same pattern tied with copper or pearl flash, to good result. Getting ready to try the blue though. Let me know if you catch one on it before I do.

Re: Sylvester Nemes Soft-Hackles
Really like the green drake emerger. Makes perfect sense. Good example of a winged flymph. The colors are right for an emerger. Western green drake duns sport a bright green body while emerging & newly emerged, darkening quickly as they dry.

Re: Woohoo first post!
My opinion, winged wets are very similar to wingless wets, the two representing different stages of an insect. One might argue that a winged wet tied to simulate an emerging insect (& many do emerge fully winged) is the very definition of a flymph. Both are useful. Leisenring carried both, &...

Scott, the OFCE is beautifully tied. Perfect. I am flattered that you would tie this so well. Where do you plan to fish it?

It has that 'getter' look to it. Tasty way to work in a color spot.

Re: P&SHS-SH
Nice workhorse flies. I've always thought of a hot spot as a sort of soft-hackle attractor pattern. There is a long tradition of that in our sport, ask any salmon fisher. To think that the imitative approach is somehow superior to the trigger approach is laughable, & diminishes the most creative...
