Re: Tenkara rods for spiders
CM, Thank you for this interesting information. I realize that I have to study this tenkara thing. I bought a match rod a few weeks ago, and have ordered furled leaders. The pp string remains to be had. I have a very light, thin flyline i bought a couple of years ago, believing it was silk. It was b...

Re: Dorber 10 foot 4 wgt rods
Disclaimer: My initial impressions of the polypropylene is mixed. After one short day of trout fishing in a nearby tail water with a Scott LS2 12 ft for a 5 weight, here is what I observed: 1. The line floats as advertised. 2. The line loads the rod well and forms a reasonable loop even at short di...

Re: Sylvester Nemes on Bead Heads...
Wow looked at the link, interestiing about turn on which end of the hackle to tie on the hook. On the DVD he touts all the benefits of tying the hackle in by the stem. Could the author perhaps have gotten it wrong?? MR. Nemes doesn't come across to me as some one that would easily change his mind a...

Re: Hello and Question
Daringduffer, Mostly, I fish double tapers or Wulff TT lines. The Wulff lines are very nice roll casters. I fish DT's in silk and Cortland Peach. The silk is nice because it floats higher than a plastic line and lessens the need for "bobbers" when you're fishing upstream. Greenheart, Your...

Re: Hello and Question
Hello, Jay. Looks like we fish the same streams. In my experience the SR is not particularly outstanding soft hackle water. I've never had any great success there. Bucktails and winged wets have always worked better for me. The Neshannock, on the other hand, is a wonderful soft hackle creek. On the...

Re: For the BWOs
Revisiting this; your tying makes the most of this hook. Scruffy, deadly, stylish without being elegant. Wish I were a trout!
