Re: Cane and silk glass rods

You could also try to contact the owner through his FB page : https://www.facebook.com/mike.kattner.16 FWIW, I bought one of his cane rods seven or eight years ago. It's one of the few rods that I regret having wasted the money on. The cane itself was cosmetically awful, as was the fit and finish, a...

I grin a little bit when I tell them soft hackles. I am sure they think I am telling them a lie. One guide in a sarcastic tone said "upstream?". I kept grinning. In that guides mind, he was convinced that I was lying.

Re: No. 29 pale watery dun question.

I was thinking that the English may have had better access to Australian possum than American. It's possible that the spelling distinction is a recent thing, maybe due to advances in classification of marsupials.

Re: No. 29 pale watery dun question.

Redietz he does say "opossum" but wait....are you saying possums and opossum are 2 different animals? I mean obviously there are multiple kinds or breeds or whatever but I didn't realize there was a distinction. I'm just from the south so I say possum because I don't speak proper English ...

Re: No. 29 pale watery dun question.

An interesting question. They wouldn't be domestic, since there are no opossums in Britain. Australian possums aren't actually opossums -- but they're always called possums rather than opossums. Just guessing that if Pritt had meant the Virginia opossum, he would have said so. Or maybe he didn't kno...

Re: Partridge and orange comparison

The question is, what do the flies look like wet? I logged in to make the same comment (after seeing the post yesterday.) Whether that actually matters to the fish is anybody's guess, though. They might even prefer the bright orange. However, going by the theory that the majority of what trout eat ...
