Re: Man card revoked
They were wingless and I enjoyed them! Might have to hot spot up a few of my own.

Re: thread choice for a Black Spider
It has always been my understanding that Stewarts Black, Red, and Dun Spiders were named for the color of the hackle feather rather than the thread. After all there isn't a traditional thread body, just a thorax tied hackle. We don't even have a thread color for the Dun Spider in The Practical Angle...

Re: Pink & Partridge Flymph
Lance, I think you are engaging in Pete's scientific method of observation at streamside. ;) For your consideration look at these: http://www.west-fly-fishing.com/entomology/mayfly/yellow-quill.shtml and http://www.west-fly-fishing.com/entomology/mayfly/pink-albert.shtml . Pink ladies were tied for ...

Re: IBF White Miller Soft Hackle
William, The fly you described probably was working well with the PMDs that were hot on some of the waters. My glass bead emerger wasn't working for me as well as the one Eric Pepper posted. I will have to add your combination to my new expanded PMD box I dedicated on my return home. More tying to d...

Eric,
Here is an older post with another similar flashy fly that has worked well for me.

IBF White Miller Soft Hackle
This is a result of a day fishing the Firehole river and catching fish first with the traditional Blue Ribbon Flies White Miller Soft Hackle and then with an x-caddis variation of mine tied with a tinsel body that brought several fish to hand. This is the Cabin Eleven tying session IBF White Miller ...

Re: SBS White Miller Flymph.
Craig had the shuck in the book Fly Patterns of Yellowstone V2 but not in his tying video. http://www.blue-ribbon-flies.com/how-to ... ft_hackle/ . Either way it is a fish magnet at the right time.

Re: SBS White Miller Flymph.
Eric,
Nice job on the tie and on the river-an essential fly in any Yellowstone fly box and equally productive in the fall. It was a great time getting to know you and others a little last week.

Re: Firehole Flymph
zen, I caught several fish on white miller soft hackles. Most were on a traditional White Miller Soft Hackle tied as usual by following the Blue Ribbon Fies pattern like my following tie that I have used for years... https://farm2.staticflickr.com/1742/41668285024_cd053aa80f.jpg B0061804 by William ...
