I like it for tradition, and translucent effects. I don't use it on most flies I tie. I do like it very much on traditional patterns such as soft hackle, spiders, flymphs etc... I didn't get that one. I did get another spider pdf from Donald though. It is called Spiders on Straight Eyed Hooks. (or Rolling Rivers pdf) I can send you that one if you want it! Donald, you may have sent this to me with a different name, but I don't think so. :?

That is a fish getter for sure. I can't seem to stop looking at it. Lovely work, but it looks like the fish here would eat that up about now. I like everything about this one for sure.

I was at my friend's house this afternoon. I watched the process of tanning deer hides. He used a mixture I've never heard of to do it. Anyway, when the time set in mixture is over, you rinse hides, and hang them. Once they almost stop dripping, he lays them flat. Then he rubs Neetsfoot Oil all over...

I guess I missed this thread before. Excellent flies Ray. Did you use head cement or something over the baby legs for the rib? I like all the flies presented here. Swellcat your fly will no doubt catch warm water fish too. Great job. I need to try this pattern.... :D
