Re: Snipe Bloa
Great looking fly. Do you notice any difference presentation with a straight eye vs. a down eye?

Re: Henthorne Purple
Excellent ties, one hewing to tradition and one utilizing modern materials, both inspire. Each is very likely to find fish. Great work. Thank you for the informative post and great photos.

Re: Mustad Catalog of Flies
There's a fly on that list called Fenwick's Favorite. I wonder if there is any connection to the rod builders.
...
My mistake. It's Femwick's not Fenwick's.

That's a beautiful Invicta! That winged wet is very effective. Even better is the silver tinsel body version. Well done.

The bonus of course is that fishing wets is so much more fun than staring at an indicator.

Anyone have a good source for Kamasan hooks
Kamasan hooks have always performed well for my wingless and winged wets. Does anyone have a reliable source with good selection?

Fishing wets over stocked trout - wingless 2:1
Enjoying soft hackles and winged wets fished over stocked trout, I've noticed that wingless wets outfish the winged ones about 2:1. Still, I love catching trout on a Silver Invicta or Woodcock and Hare's ear. I'm experimenting with different positions in the cast to see if that makes s difference.

Beautiful. Woodcock is a favorite of mine too. I don't know enough about the bird to know if supply is dwindling or stable.
