Re: 2 fly's
Both are a couple juicy ties. I actually like the first one, but I would have swapped the colors in the body with olive vinyl and a dark brown uni wire.

Re: copper and partridge PT
Well executed. I've been tying a similar pattern all day at show. Doing it with the wire only, no thread, just for traditional pt's sake.

Beautifully done.
Ron, you said "float". I thought that was a forbidden word on this site.

Re: Tying off Peacock Chenille?
I rarely use more than 3 heels to wrap a body on a soft hackle. Of course, i tie in my hackle by the stem first. This allows me to use the thicker part of the rachis to build up the thorax area. Re: Furnace and Primrose Palmer
Thanks all, glad you like it.
Ray, I haven't tied it with a tail. I Palmer the hackle back and when I tie it off and clip it, I just leave a couple hackle fibers protruding out the back for a hint of a tail. A tail would look nice, not sure it would increase take, but ?

Re: Furnace and Primrose Palmer
Me too Ray, I could use them a bit more I think. I mostly use them in stillwater situations. I don't know why I don't use them as much on moving water.
Hankaye - didn't you know everything is a little better spiked. Actually, it looks spikey, but is quite soft.
