Re: Denim Utah Tups Soft Hackle

William - No, I did not do anything to the denim thread. It is just drawn tight and wound over itself in two layers (down and back). It may look glossy because I used my flash, when taking the photo.

Thanks Hank. ;)

Re: Wool Scud Bug Soft Hackle

Thanks William. The partridge hackle was given to me by Carl Sanders (Old hat). The bird is from Eastern Oregon and has lovely barring. Chris - The more I look at this Utah yarn, the more it reminds me of a very pale tups mix. The pink fibers seem to show up more in the photo, than at first glance a...

Re: Hare's mask and snipe

Lance - You may want to give Jim Slattery a call (phone 406-646-7258) to see if he has any hidden away. Sometimes he has stuff that is not listed on his website ( http://www.jimsflyco.com ). I was talking with Mike Hogue last week and he mentioned that he had recently received a shipment of skins fr...

Re: The taking fly

Bob - What hook do you recommend for this pattern? That looks like a wide gap hook. Is that important to the way the fly fishes?

Great fly, by the way. Thanks for sharing your secret.
