Re: Who Fishes Wood?
Thanks, Ray--yes, I've visited the Blue Mountain Lake museum a couple of times--they have Nessmuk's canoe!--and so much else, as you point out!--also climbed to the fire tower overlooking the lake. My wife and I got married in a log cabin just up the road in Indian Lake....19 years ago. It's a nice ...

Re: Who Fishes Wood?
Wood? Only one: a 7' Allcock greenheart that took me half a decade to pry from the hands of a good friend in Ireland--. Paired with a 2 5/8 Hardy Sunbeam, it's a gem: https://i.postimg.cc/XYDq77RV/IMG_0047.jpg As for fishing grass--that's another story. It's pretty much the only thing I fish. Here a...

Re: Micro Fishing Photo Tank - Inexpensive Under Water Photo Set Up
Cool set-up, Ray--I like it a lot. John, I agree about the lack of movement of the soft hackles is surprising--I've seen this with flatwing streamers too--but have seen flashabou respond very well to subtle currents. I wonder if there's a market here for a supersoft synthetic hackle? The ways the ba...

Re: What rod do you use?
“Fish wood” is a very interesting choice of words!! LOL!--Here's an exceptional piece of lumber: an Allcock 7' Greenheart with a 2 5/8" Hardy Sunbeam: https://i.postimg.cc/XYDq77RV/IMG-0047.jpg I first cast it about a decade ago when visiting Ireland. A friend owned it. Looked for one for 8 ye...

Re: Edmonds & Lee
LOL--. The corrections are very useful, and the recriminations simply delightful--to be accused of being "appallingly illiterate" would be a call to arms for some, and a badge of honour to others. Good writers have been called worse. All things considered, I thought the photographs were qu...

LOL--classic junkie, you'd snort all your profits, huh? Like pretty much all the rest of us.
Stay safe. Stay home. Tie flies.

Re: Smaller flymphs
Thanks--yes, the artery clamp (small, 1 1/2 inches, curved) is my favorite. There's a lot of junk out there now, you really need to check to make sure it's a medical grade tool--lol.
I want to see those rejects too--we should start a thread of all our bad ties!

Re: Smaller flymphs
Great job, Dana!
One question: what did you use to grip the starling when you wrapped it? Hackle pliers? Artery clamp? Divine intervention?
