No, Andrew, I have not. I have a picture of myself when I was four and was surrounded by poultry. It is a small paper copy but it looks like I enjoyed it.

Could that be of any help?

Surprise.

I'm 58 but people can still surprise me. I have just tied a beautiful fly. I've heard so much about Collins hen hackle and decided to try it out. I searched the net for some source taking PayPal since I am sceptic to credit card safety. I found a seller in a big country far west from here and told h...

Re: Colour.

Mark, I agree with you. The copper wire used is covered with enamel/lacquer which can be of different colour but most often was/is reddish brown and quite dark. But there is also other colours of lacquer used that has a more golden tone and even quite red. The lacquer is there as an electric insulat...

Re: Colour.

Didnt Sawyer use red dark copperwire for the killerbug? Klaas As mentioned here http://www.flymphforum.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=1179&start=30 , Sawyer thought the colour of copper wire used for the Killer Bug of lesser importance although he mentions that "we normally now use red...

Colour.

There has been said a lot about how colours on body material show up in the water. Tonight I've been tying some more point flies for Mike Brave. I have used several different colours of copper wire (have a good supply) overwound with same colour (pinkish beige) synthetic yarn. My opinion is that Fra...

Re: synthetic materials..

Johnno, Tonight I have had great fun tying with plastic canvas yarn, mixing different colours and heavy material. I am tying point flies for Mike Brave so that he can get his wingless wets down deep where he has confidence in them. I am using a yarn mentioned on another forum claimed to have the sam...

Re: Old Master

Hi Old Hat; I realllly like these, especially numbers 1 & 3 with the herl bodies. Is ash silk grey? Also, can you share your camera setup, ie. lens and camera? I really like how the fly is the only thing in focus and the background is blurred. Wayneb Wayneb, I have a couple of Pearsall Gossamer...
