Re: The Light Brown
I think your fly looks fantastic and you'll like being in their shoes, so fish these flies hard when you can.

Re: Dark Watchett
Stunning fly.
Did you tie the two colors of silk at the same time or is one more like a ribbing? Hard for me to tell with the dubbing covering it. But it looks great.

Could use your advice.
My neighbor came over with some mallard wings for me that he got from some hunters. That's a blessing to me right now.
My question is, how long should I keep them in the freezer to kill any bugs that may be attached to them?
Also, does chucker make a good tying material?

Re: Hooks
I like the Partridge Patriot hooks, but now that Dettes is no longer selling them I'm looking at other brands. Hanak is a brand I am seriously looking at. I heard somewhere they now make hooks for Partridge, whether it's true or not I can't say. I used to buy Firehole until I was finding too many ho...

Re: Jay
That is beautiful. I didn't know we were allowed to tie with jay feathers. I have jays at my house by the dozens because I feed them peanuts. If the cat catches one I know what I'm gonna do. Great looking fly. we are only allowed to tie with "eurasian jay" feathers as stated in the recipe...

Re: Muskrat Dubbing the easy way
I can not bring my self to shave my muskrat. This line struck me as so funny. I immediately started laughing when I read it. Sounds like the opening statement in one of those multiple step self help programs. “Hello, my name is Ray, and…”   Sorry to get off track, I am just in a sil...
