Re: GRHE
Nice looking fly. Agreed; one of the classics, and one that has caught lots of fish for me.

Nice! Scrawny, but pretty, too. Ought to bring some fish to the line.

Re: Still here (lurking)
Bob, sorry to hear of your "face plant". Hope everything is ok by now. I can honestly say I have never taken a spill while wading. Some very close calls; but no falls. Have never used a wading staff, but they are looking better and better. As I get older, I find my sense of balance seems t...

Still here (lurking)
Thought I'd better check in. Been a while. Haven't been tying as much lately, other things going on. We moved over Christmas weekend, and I managed to take a tumble down some stairs, but didn't break anything in the box I was carrying. Did crack a couple of ribs, and really aggravated old "Arth...

Wonderful fly. IMO, the Mearns Quail markings are right on the money. Great markings. But, I'm afraid you let out your secret dubbing.

Probably my favorite pattern, W.
Very nicely tied. Really like the hook choice, and the "fuzzies".

Re: Denson's Swamp Donkey
Strange name for a fly (But I like it!). Great looking tie.
I have meant to mention that I really like your method of posting, with the 3 different views of a fly. Gives really good idea of the construction of the pattern, and a better idea of how the fly should look.

Re: Hares ear soft hackle
I agree, a universal fly that should work anywhwere. I like the use of Hares Ear Plus in the body and thorax. Nice work!
