Re: Pink & Partridge Flymph

Bill thanks for the bump... I've never come across this very informative post before. Lots to learn from the pros.

Re: Bream bug (nymph)

First fish I ever caught on a fly rod was a slab blue gill in a private pond in Durham, NC. Seemed anything with rubber legs would do the deed. Only problem was the pond belonged to a Frat brother from Duke, and I had to sneak in because those Dookies didn't want any Tarheel Delta Sigs in their pond...

Re: Pink Lady Variations

Bill does the Crooked or Three Bridges have a Pink Lady hatch? I'm hoping the Mother's Day hatch is delayed this year, I won't be fishing for the first part of May...

Re: Green Drake Softhackles (generic)

I came across this Green Drake emerger the same day that I saw DUBBN's fly. My camera is so bad, I couldn't take a decent picture of one I tied so I just put in the URL so you can see it clearly. Similar to DUBBN's fly, it has compound hackles which got my attention.

Re: Posse Bugger Variant

guys... I've fished a section of the Middle Deschutes when we could get on the water that has a bit of a salmon fly/stonefly hatch each spring. Not as well known as the lower Deschutes, but stonefly nymphs have been working this winter. I've tied several other new to me stonefly nymphs inspired by D...

Posse Bugger Variant

Having a chat today with Roadkill and after seeing his Smurf Emerger, I thought most of those folks from East of the Cascades, might not know that "Smurf" in this case is a real person; and unless you had watched old Jack Dennis videos, or read Rick Hafele's book "Nymph Fishing Rivers...

Re: Partrige and olive

Like the gold tag... ala LaFontaine's suggestion that the gold tag on dark flies has historical relevance!

Re: PMD

these split case PMD patterns have worked very well for me on the Crooked and Metolius. I'll have to try some of yours DUBBN.
