Re: Rusty Pine & Partridge Flymph
Bill... love that pine squirrel... we still need to get together and cut some zonkers from my rusty skin. I'm tying more sculpins this winter from various pine squirrel micro zonkers and don't have any zonkers from that hide.

Re: Root beer Peacock and Grouse
I'm with Kilts... Like the root beer and peacock combo. Small fly-larger hook is never a bad idea as well.
Really like to see more of your trout spey flies.
PS are you still in Oregon? There's a couple more of us in the Forum that are here. Variant, Roadkill, and I get together from time to time...

Carl.. I have the Overfield book but I envy your ability to take those black and white photos and fly recipes and turn them into a work of art. I look forward to seeing you in Albany this spring.

Re: Does this fly have a name?
Those wings drive me batty, too... Davey McPhail's winged fly videos are pretty good at explaining how to manage those dudes.
Yours look pretty darn good to me.

Bump
With Whitlocks passing, I've been looking at our posts of his fly. If any of you can tell me exactly how Scott P did his version at the end of this thread, I'd love to know it... I can't seem to figure it out

Re: Ephemera and Semperfli silk threads
Great fly Bob... I too have used both YLI and Kimono and the color charts supplied by Old Hat have been great. The Semperfli I tried wasn't great, My wife had some in her quilting supplies, but it seems to be a little rough and thick for my tastes. Never bought any after using the wife's supply for ...

Re: New Section Name
Norm certainly deserves a page. He puts a lot more time and effort into tying than many of us combined and his photos are always top notch. I can count on there being something in the new posts almost every day because Norm take the time to share his work.

Re: Royal Charlie
Smith's book is beautiful and full of info. I've really enjoyed it too.
I expect you'll be filling some more boxes with the flies he illustrates.
