Buttonhole twist

Threads about Tups always get me fired up and the current one is no different. I was going to tie a few with Mike Valla's dubbing blend and post some pictures for those who were asking about it. I find lisenring's process for dressing the tups kind of tedious but I was going to do it his way but got...

Re: Another of Doug's Wingless Wets

Thanks Doug! I've been tying them like crazy since I saw yours. I thought so said IT was a Tim Flagler pattern So i spent an hour last night going trough ever one of his videos looking for the name of the fly haha. As for the muskrat nymph that's a great (and simple) fly. It's a polly Rosborough pat...

Re: Too good to be worth it?

Fish- can't speak on Saber but you can get a 100 pack for about the same price from lighning strike and they are great hooks. Bronze finish with a great tiny little micro barb. Yup! Those will definitely do it! Is the muskrat done with a partridge feather with the tip cut out to create a pair of wings?

Re: Head Cement; I need a New Source

Just thought I'd let yall know yesterday I stumbled on pure acetone at dollar tree for 1.25 instead of 8-10 bucks. If you're thinning down Sally's or whatever get the pure stuff.

Chironomid

I think I may have came up with the greatest midge pupa/emerger ever! Hahaha or at least I think it looks pretty great. Dress the front section of angel hair with floatant so it hangs in the film vertically-ish and I think it will be a reaper. Hook- straight shank of choice, 1xl Gills- angel hair (s...

Re: Could use your advice.

Exactly what Seneca said! You've gotta do it twice so you don't get any surprise visitors from bugs that may hatch out from the larva stage. But typically speaking ducks and other fowl are pretty safe.

Re: Bead head "dutch"

Oh man....you don't need to "try" it. Just buy some. Or better yet harvest your own! That's what I do. I think by now it can be lumped in with hares ear and peacock herl as a "magic" material. Goose "cdc" is the best if you're a hunter. But if you harvest your own it's ...
