Re: New
Wayne, So glad to know you're having success with flies tied from the spool of purple Pearsall's Gossamer. This report from you may also convert some of the "purple haters" visiting this Forum. Your photo skills really help show off your flies. Color me green (not purple) with envy! Tight ...

Wayne,
You enjoyed some great days on the water. I can't comment about Davey or Oliver's feelings toward you; however, I'm 100% certain Jesus will never hate you!

Re: Annual Arctic Grayling
Wayne,
I've been fortunate to catch Grayling twice. I caught 1 in the Joe Wright Reservoir in CO and I caught some in a lake near Pinedale, WY, but I can't remember the name of the lake.

Re: Annual Arctic Grayling
Wayne,
Did you catch your Grayling in a lake/reservoir or in a stream?
Thanks- Ken

Re: Must watch video
Certainly no "reel expert", but yes, it looks like a RHW Hardy Perfect with a circular line guide that probably has a smokey gray agate in the ring.

Re: Partridge Skins, would you send them back?
Please let us know how the "Premium" skins look. I'm pretty sure I recently received an e-mail with a newsletter from the shop involved here. Surprising, as my previous buys of skins from this shop have been great transactions--including a Golden Plover!

Re: Partridge Skins, would you send them back?
My guess is if you saw those 3 necks in a fly shop, you would only have purchased 1 of them. Seems strange that "Pro" is the lowest grade; what is the better grade called?
Bottom line: you're not happy, so returning them is the right answer.

Re: Rods for fishing flymphs and soft hackles
Doug,
A 9' Heddon with 2F ferrule is a good choice. I fish mine with a Hook and Hackle DT-6F line. A Cortland Peach DT-6 would pretty much be interchangeable. I have also used a Cortland Sylk DT-6. I dream of acquiring a Heddon Model 60, but for now, I'm using a Model 10.
