Re: Now What?
I'll make it easy for you. Pack it all in your MGB and I'll be down with a wad of cash when I get back from Montreal F-1 ! :D Rick Haven't been able to work on or start the MGB since July 2019 when we got rear ended in an accicent (not the MGB- it's still in our garage)! But to be honest, all the R...

Re: Now What?
I was recently thinking the same thing about the 800 odd books I have on flytying and flyfishing…. 3/4 of them are not worth anything except to me… johnno I don't have anywhere near 800 books but those I have are probaby worth a bunch too and I haven't even considered what to do with the fly tying ...

Re: Now What?
For the flies I'd donate to an organization like Project Healing Waters. They could always use the flies. The fly tying materials and hooks, I'd see if there's a youngster near by who wants to learn to tie flies and give it to him or her. Thanks but I don't think many new fly fishers would apprecia...

Now What?
What is an OLD guy to do when his fishing days are becoming less frequent and he has (literally, close to or more than) a hundred bird skins, wings, various loose hackles, thousands of hooks and even more finished flies worth quite a few thousands of dollars? Selling on auction sites would mean quit...

Re: A Couple More Attempts at Tying Rob SMith's Dressings
You people are way too nice to this old guy who tends to over hackle and over dress his flies! But thanks for the compliments!

Re: Who Fishes Wood?
Bob - When did you you first start fly fishing? Did you start out on graphite, and transition to bamboo rods? I started out on glass rod, then built some graphite rods, then back to fiberglass and eventually to bamboo (thanks to friend Ruard who built my bamboo rod). I didn’t think I’d ever get cha...

Re: Who Fishes Wood?
Well, except for an 8 wgt Orvis rod that my wife bought for me many years ago (one of my first rods) and a 4 wgt Sage that belonged the brother of a friend, I have given away all my graphite rods and can now only fish cane rods. Having no graphite rods left really doesn't make much of a difference, ...
