Re: Generic Nymphs and Softhackles
DUBBN thank you for continuing to add to the variety of flies in my box. I don't think I've yet to see a fly you share that I wouldn't copy, er imitate, er create a variant of... well you get the idea.

Re: Pheasant Tail SH Jig

Re: Rods for fishing flymphs and soft hackles
PLV our locations are quite different, but clearly our fishing experiences and waters must be similar. I find I'm agreeing with what you have to say about the rods, lines, and waters you fish. Re: Rods for fishing flymphs and soft hackles
I've had good luck with my 10'6" 3wt by Cortland..their early version of the competition nymphing rod. I've managed some pretty decent fish on the rod. Best was probably a 17" rainbow on the canyon stretch of the Henry's Fork... guide was so impressed with the way the rod handled the fish,...

Re: Rods for fishing flymphs and soft hackles
My 10' 6" Cortland 3wt with a 5wt single hand spey line by Rio gets used much like Dubbn. Fish it upstream with a variety of nymphing methods, depending on the river, then back down with soft hackles. I also have a 10" 4 wt Loomis rod that gets the same treatment on areas of the Deschutes....

Re: Mystery feather soft hackle 2.0
thanks Otto... goose does not even come close... I did try ostrich, but its just not the same.. I have continued to play with using different wing feathers that I have to get ribs close to your fly. I really like the effect with the space between wraps allowing the thread to show through. I have twi...
