Re: Moonlit Hooks
I use moonlit a lot. Really good, strong, sharp hooks and I like the gunmetal color finish instead of gold or bronze. My buddy has an online fly shop called "not only trout" and has them for like 4 bucks all the time. If yall want any I can give you my coupon code to get them even cheaper!

Re: Is pink the "secret sauce"?
One of my top producing flies is a version of the pink squirrel. It's murder. I don't use a crystal flash tail and instead of a pink chenille collar on top I just do pine squirrel or domestic gray squirrel in a dubbing loop for the body with pink ice dub or shredded up killer bug yarn in a split thr...

Re: Phesant and snowshoe emerger
It looks big but it's only a standard size 12. @ronr I'm a big fan and student of cal bird, and polly Rosborough. I really like the quote Bird had when asked about his birds nest why do you put the big scruffy "head" on it making the legs appear behind the thorax and Cal simply said "...

Phesant and snowshoe emerger
Just a little freestyle floating nymph while playing around with snowshoe hare's foot. It's such an amazing material that I don't use nearly enough. Let me know what you think.... Tail: phesant tail Abdomen: same Rib: fine gold wire Wing: snowshoe hare Legs: furnace hen Collar: pine squirrel in a sp...

Re: Indian Yellow
I LOVE this pattern! Used to tie it all the time, not nearly as nice as yours, but I couldn't remember the name. I was thinking it was the KING of the waters but that didn't end up being right. So glad you posted this and amazing work!

"Old Blue" Hendrickson
In my local waters light, creamy colored flies do really well regardless of if the sulphurs or "Cahills" are hatching or not. I had a brainstorm to do a mash up of a light hendrickson wet fly and Lisenring's old blue dun...I'm super stoked with how it came out.
