Tom,
Great looking soft hackled flies!
So much fun to tie and fish them...
Best,
Tim

Ray,
You're always welcome to raid my fly boxes...not kidding! That pattern would have made a good imitation of the Hexagenia flies that we say hatching.

Tim

Hi Karsten,
The flies you tied are very creative, cleanly tied, and really demonstrate your skill as an innovative fly tyer.
Nicely done!

Tim

Carl,
That's a great looking fly. It will be a great Sept/Oct (and beyond) pattern on those cool, wet, and gray days that the olives favor.
Nicely done, sir.

Tim

Re: Montreal Variation
Hi Bill,
That's a nice looking Montreal! Very clean tie, as always.
I like the pattern, and I tie them big for night fishing. I usually use claret seal for the bodies, on size 4 and 6 hooks.
Best,
Tim

Re: New Backdrop for Tying Vice
Ray, You have found a great solution to a real tying challenge! I have the HMH profile plate for my vise. The arm that holds the profile plate protrudes toward me, on the left hand side, and sometimes catches or gets in the way during a tricky procedure. I suspect I could shorten it, but haven't. I ...
