Nice pattern with nice materials!
Whichever Quail donated its "flight" gear for dog training purposes, they are of a good size and colouration for your re-purposing.

Re: Bob White and Primrose
I like that one a lot. Has all the colouration and profile of a real fish catcher.
Is that natural primrose, or is there some wax involved?
I wonder if the black hook shank colour might "bleed" through when the silk becomes wet.

Re: Green Drake
Very nice.
I like the proportions and the contrast of the wing pad thorax cover.

Re: Fun Morning
So, I guess somebody got a pass from the therapist and the knee is fully functioning again? ;) Good to see you back out there doing it and cabin fever didn't get the best of you during recovery. Great to see the ND caps featuring again, had been missed around these parts. Well worth the sneaky day o...

Re: Quill Body Soft Hackles
Very nice use of your time.
Great looking flies. Liking the colour of the quills. Did you head cement or super glue the shank before you wrapped them up to the tie off point?

Re: Giorgio Benecchi Iridescent Thread
I will do my best to find some I have and photograph it..... but apart from the reinforcing strands being the same colour as the tinsel (the fibres in mine are translucent/clear) and this one being possibly finer in denier...... they look one in the same.

Re: Giorgio Benecchi Iridescent Thread
I will have to dig some spools out and take a photo, but this stuff looks exactly like the stuff you can by in "dollar" stores over here originating from China. You get a packet of around six different colours for about $2. Basically it is a thin flat tinsel like "thread" reinfor...

Re: Sylvester Nemes Soft-Hackles
the Trilene knot also passes thru the eye twice too. As does the "grinner" knot, does it not? Hank, you are assuming (from a Military background?) that everybody follows the rules and regulations as set out in the manual. This particular knot may be none of the above, or it may be one of ...

Re: Sylvester Nemes Soft-Hackles
My vote is for the Palomar knot, as it looks to me like the tippet has passed through the eye of the hook twice?
