Re: New goodies on the way !

Woodcock is on my to get list. Well done.

I just noticed you are from Boulder Mt. My wife has a lot of family that lives there. I miss vacationing there and fishing the Boulder River, Basin Creek and the many small creeks in the area.

letumgo wrote: Mon Dec 24, 2018 1:08 am Trifly- what size are your flies? They look like 18 or maybe even smaller. Very impressive.
Size 24. Dai-riki 310 hook. Not too bright here. Tried to edit the post and messed it up. I too like the spiders JCwillow posted. Well done.

Re: Hen Capes

I have bought and used a few of the Collins hen capes. I was always disappointed in the and lack of uniformity from one cape to the next. That, and I was disappointed with the lack of feathers in the necks to tie down to 18. Hen-Hackle.jpg Feathers, hooks and thread. We are indeed lucky that we can ...

I find I must pay close attention when tying the small patterns as the stems on the 4Bs are much shorter than th...

Re: Stripped Peacock Quill Bodies

What I like to do is submerge the flies in a jar water to see how the flies respond. In the warmer months I actually do testing in the river with real current to see how the flies act. At times I have used a GoPro or underwater point & click camera along a friend to assist so I can see how the ...
