I think that one is an old 94842 up-eye dry hook.

Re: Cedar Lake Calibaetis
I'd be curious to see what these look like wet and how they match up to actual nymph coloration. One thing I'm guilty of is not checking my nymphal patterns against live nymphs. Mine work but in my mind they could do better. The benchmark I use them against is my first trip to Chopaka in 1977 and ho...

Re: Married wing wet - Brookie Fin
The original recipe for these flies was apparently a #6. From what I read this was the size of choice in the old gut leader era. I've tried the married wings on #12's thru #4 and found #8's and #6's easier to tie than on the smaller hooks. Don Bastian made two DVD's on quill wing wet flies and some ...

It does have a nice body.
I found duck quill easier to get a nice looking wing than goose quill. Goose shoulder was the worst for me.

Re: After work
I wondered how many others are using Allen hooks. I have purchased more than a few of them after the earlier issues were worked out. Good hooks.newriverspey wrote:It is tied on a #16 D102BL

Re: Leisenring's Orphan Nymphs
I tied one of the March Brown nymphs today and mine sure doesn't look like the picture in the first post. In my defense I will say my computer connection was down when I tried it. The issues I had was/were my hun partridge hackle is too long and I forgot I had gold wire for the ribbing. It was still...

Re: Bobbin Holder for Pearsall's Bobbins
Found them on Jim's website and called and talked to Ron. He is shipping me a small Wasatch bobbin holder. I'm running out of excuses, I'm going to have to start tying before long. Thanks for the recommendations. When the first 4 agree, that would be the way to go! Kirk Ron is the person who steere...
