This is tied on a Firehole 316 #12, pretty much my go-to Kebari hook. I've tried tying them on a 14 but have not been impressed. Keep in mind that I fish these on mild to high gradient mountain streams.

Thanks guys. I tie in the hackle by the stem 90 degrees to the shank immediately behind the bead; after wrapping the desired amount of hackle I tie off the waste end in open spirals wrapping as far down the hook as you'd like before breaking it off; I then wrap the dubbing (muskrat in this case) up ...

I've been at home, not fishing, for some weeks now to say the least, and have been tying a lot. Mostly I've been tying Japanese style kebari in preparation for some Tenkara fishing this season. I have also been tying some caddis pupae patterns to use in a cross-current Tenkara manipulation technique...
