Really nice looking tie. I agree with Ray about the curved hook. I tie a lot of my soft hackles on a curved hook. Don't know if it matters to the Brookies, but I like the looks of them.

I've noticed the same thing. On the skins I have (bought from a reputable shop, thru the magic of the internet), most of the feathers that are in the range of 12-16 have very little sheen, except at the very tips. Willow - Yep, been using floss for years. Those little hand "drill bits" they use for root canals make dandy dubbing "ruffer-uppers" for small nymphs and such. Ask your dentist for a couple of the largest size, I'm sure he'll give you a couple. Think the official name for them is...

Hope you're feeling better pretty soon. Get to the dentist, it's not nearly the painful experience it used to be.
Look around while you're there. My wife is a dental hyg., and I have some pretty cool tying tools from her office. Even some strange tying materials.
