Highlander Green Alternative

Anyone know the YLI number that is a close match to the old Pearsall Highlander Green? Thanks.

Re: Golden Plover Breast Feathers

Answering my own post... tied up a dozen or so of Pritt's Water Crickets after watching Robert Smith's YouTube video and those Golden Plover Breast Feathers are some of the nicest looking game hackles I've ever used and the way they sweep back is great! Gotta get a few more in the future.

Golden Plover Breast Feathers

So I’m watching Robert Smith’s YouTube videos on tying Pritt’s Fieldfare Bloa and Water Cricket dressings as he describes (and pictures) some Golden Plover Breast Feathers and I think to myself “Wait a minute. Hare's Ear, Pheasant Tails & Hackles

For years, I've gathered way too many fly tying materials as I've often searched for materials to tie a dozen or so of a specific dressing and then kept the "extra' materials on hand for heaven knows what future use. But in looking at many of the pics of flies done by others, I've been impresse...

Re: Golden Plover

I was on the Cookskill list for a long time. I found a whole G plover skin listed on FeathersMc for 80 smackers and pulled the trigger. It went into the freezer before I even opened it and when I did, it had been infested before I got it. Not a happy camper... Go with Cookskill but don't hold your ...

Little Winter Brown

A not quite good variation of Pritt's "Little WInter Brown" (with a VERY BAD pic)!

Light Red Fox Squirrel & Partridge

Started tying a few of these over a month ago and just finished numbers 11 and 12 today. Just can't get too motivated to tie flies when it's this hot outside. That being said, it's also been too hot for this old guy to do any trout fishing this season, so they go into the Wheatleys with all the othe...
