Pearsall RAYON Thread
Recently, I came across an old wooden spool of Pearsall's that still had the labels on the spool and it said "Pearsall's RAYON Fly Tying' on one label and "Made in England" of the other side's label. Now I've seen cards of Pearsall Embroidery rayon threads but never saw a Pearsall Ray...

Re: Teesdale flies
I'm noticing somewhat of a trend that some "authors" are taking the old fly tying / fishing books that are out of print / copyright and then doing "their own book", reprinting the out-of- copyright book and then adding some additional comments / pictures of their own to make a &q...

Not too many chances to find things like that here in the Colonies.

Re: your honest opinion
Did a dressing like this awhile back with hare's ear dubbig, red biots for the tail, white biots for the wing and a partridge hackle. Will have to do a few more soon. Thanks for jogging an old guy's memory.

I'm familiar with the Oyster 290 as a substitute for the Killer Bug yarn. I have a lifetime supply and would love to see a fly you've tied using the cut up yarn as dubbing.
Thanks- Ken
As you wish. Did these a LONG time ago.

Re: Shetland wool yarn
Cut into small lengths and mixed in a coffee grinder, the Oyster 290 yarn makes some nice dubbing.

English Grouse & Woodcock Hackles
I really like the coloring of English Grouse and Woodcock. A couple years back, I decided to use some of these hackles with different dubbings. My apologies if I've posted these before. Memory not as good as it used to be!
