Gettin' there!
Still needs work on actual taper but overall I'm pretty happy with this one. Tying in the Lisenring style where the hackle is tied in first is still a little weird to me. It's not "show" quality, but I think it's a very fishable flymph. Hook: Partridge L5A/UE Thread: Sheer 14/0, blue dun B...

Re: Kit muskrat
Hmm. Well if the kit has fewer guard hairs maybe it isn't quite what I'm needing after all. Being as I love the casual dress I've actually been looking for a skin pretty dense in guard hairs to get a nice full "hackle" collar. I can't imagine the under fur would be a whole lot different. I...

Kit muskrat
More of a flymph and nymph question I suppose but I figured under the materials heading would be most appropriate. Im sure I'm preaching to the choir...but as the obsession progresses from acute, to chronic, to terminal you start out buying seal. Then you want pup seal. Then you want unborn seal. Yo...

Re: Tools?
Those are awesome! Great work! Would you sell any? I have a matarelli midge bobbin that works great but I've often thought about respooling my pearsalls and floss.

Re: Beginner's flymph
Thanks for posting! I've been searching everywhere for a long time to find a commercially available up eye hook that's long. All I have sound is the partridge and it's a little short, or the daiichi that's also short and only goes up to a 16. It would be a great spider hook if you could get it in 14...

Re: Bird's Nests color combos
I tried to post pics of the dyed olive but it says the file is too big so I'll have to take some more photos. Still need to do the dubbing blends.
